Maryland Eastern Shore graduate student Thashaina Seraus was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Bowler of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 26.
Seraus (Oranjestad, Aruba) averaged 200.25 pins in traditional play this past weekend in the MEAC Northern Divisional No. 3 meet hosted by Howard, and she averaged 197 pins over all frames. Her strike rate was nearly 50 percent, and Seraus converted all of her single-pin spares for the weekend. She bowled a weekend-best 230 against Howard and had a 220 against Delaware State.
This is her third MEAC Bowler of the Week honor this season.
The Hawks have at least three more events on the schedule including the USBC Sectionals (March 11,13), The Music City Classic (March 17-19), The MEAC Championships (March 24-26) and then hope to be heading to the NCAA Championships (April 13-15) and the USBC Championships (April 20-22).
